Kia Ora my name is Janice and I have been teaching for 13 years. I am married to Brendon, and have two sons Dylan and Max. We love the outdoors, and live on a small lifestyle block. I love teaching and it is rewarding watching children grow. My aim is to help the children in my class find their passions and confidently grow in their learning. I believe learning should be fun, engaging and tailored to meet the needs of the individual learner. I have an open door policy, and welcome parents/caregivers to come in to help, visit or discuss their child's learning.

This year (2018) is my first year as a teacher! I used to work for an educational book publisher, but now I get to see teaching and learning happen in person. I am passionate about holistic learning, making sure our class is a place where we all belong and learn from each other, and fostering critical thinkers.

I am from Hamilton, but have lived in Scotland, where I met my partner. We have a marvelous son called Michael, who was born this year. I love reading books, playing music, board games, and going for runs with my dog.

Hi. I’m Susie Woolston and I joined Silverdale at the start of 2019. I teach a Year 3 and 4 class in Room 1 this year and we are a happy little group of learners with lots of diversity and lots of strengths. As an experienced teacher, I have taught at various different levels both in NZ and overseas. I am really enjoying being a part of this very special Silverdale community.
